Philodendron bonifaziae × joepii is an F1 hybrid crossed and grown from seed in our own greenhouse.

This unusual cross brings together two Philodendron species known for their distinctive foliage. The young plants already develop long, narrow leaves with interesting proportions, giving us a first glimpse of what this combination may produce as it matures.

As these plants are grown from seed, natural variation occurs within the cross. Individual plants may differ in leaf shape, proportions and growth habit, and these characteristics can change considerably as the plants mature. With both parent species developing much more distinctive foliage with age, we're particularly curious to see how this hybrid will evolve.

That's part of the appeal of growing our own F1 hybrids: the parentage is known, but the mature result is something we get to discover as the plants grow.
