Plantlovers Day – Greenhouse Tours, Workshops & Pop-Up Shop
Join us for Plantlovers Day at Kwekerij Dirk Mermans, a special day dedicated to plants and the people who love them.
On this day we open the doors of our nursery and invite you to discover our greenhouses, attend workshops, and explore a unique pop-up shop with rare and unusual plants.
Whether you are a passionate collector or simply curious about how tropical houseplants are grown, Plantlovers Day is the perfect opportunity to visit our greenhouse and meet other plant enthusiasts.

What you can expect
🌿 Pop-Up Plant Shop
During Plantlovers Day you can visit our pop-up plant shop, where we offer a selection of:
• rare and unusual plants
• collector varieties
• larger specimen plants
• plants grown in soil and semi-hydro
Some of these plants are normally not available in our webshop.
No registration is required for the pop-up shop.
🌱 Guided Greenhouse Tours
Join one of our guided greenhouse tours and discover how we grow tropical plants at Kwekerij Dirk Mermans.
During the tour we will explain:
• how our plants are propagated
• how we grow and care for them in the greenhouse
• how we manage pests using biological control
• how our cultivation methods have evolved over the years
Tours are available in:
• Dutch
• French
• English
Registration is required.
🪴 Workshops
During Plantlovers Day we organise hands-on workshops where you can learn practical plant care techniques.
Topics include:
• plant propagation
• repotting techniques
• building and using moss poles
Workshops are organised in small groups to keep them interactive.
Registration is required.
🥪 Lunch
Visitors can enjoy a simple sandwich lunch between 11:00 and 13:00.
The lunch includes a selection of mini sandwiches and bread rolls.
Please register for lunch so we can plan accordingly.

Do I need to register to visit the pop-up shop?
No. The pop-up shop is freely accessible throughout the day.
However, registration is required for guided tours, workshops and lunch.
Is parking available?
Yes. Parking is available near the greenhouse.
Can I bring my dog?
Out of respect for other visitors, pets are generally not allowed inside the greenhouse.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. Card payments are accepted.
Is the event suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Plantlovers Day is open to everyone interested in plants, whether you are just starting or already a collector.
