Anthurium luxurians × Anthurium magnificum is a first-generation (F1) hybrid from our in-house breeding programme.

This fascinating cross combines the distinctive textured foliage of Anthurium luxurians with the broad, impressive leaves of Anthurium magnificum.

Young plants already show broad, heart-shaped foliage with a subtly textured surface. One of the most striking features at this stage is the emergence of new leaves: they open in a much lighter tone, with beautiful reddish-pink petioles and venation, before gradually hardening and developing their mature green colour.

As the plants grow, it will be particularly interesting to see how the characteristic foliage traits of both parent species develop and combine. As with all seed-grown F1 hybrids, every seedling is genetically unique and may develop its own individual leaf shape, texture, colour and growth characteristics.

To maximize the chances of discovering exceptional new cultivars, we germinate considerably more seedlings than we ultimately need. The most promising individuals are retained for our breeding programme, while the remaining healthy seedlings are offered in limited quantities through our In-House Hybrids collection.

This plant has been grown from seed in our own breeding programme and is not a tissue-cultured clone.
