Anthurium nigrolaminum × magnificum is a first-generation (F1) hybrid from our in-house breeding programme.

This cross combines two highly sought-after velvet Anthurium species. While Anthurium nigrolaminum is admired for its dark, elongated foliage and velvety texture, Anthurium magnificum is known for its broad leaves and striking venation.

This particular cross has already produced some fascinating seedlings. Several plants have developed a strongly textured leaf surface reminiscent of Anthurium luxurians, despite neither parent being luxurians. The seedlings also display striking square, deep red to dark pink petioles, with the same rich colouring continuing into the primary veins on the underside of the leaves. As with all seed-grown F1 hybrids, every plant is genetically unique and will continue to develop its own individual characteristics as it matures.

To maximize the chances of discovering exceptional new cultivars, we sow considerably more seedlings than we ultimately need. The most promising individuals are selected for our breeding programme, while the remaining healthy seedlings are offered in limited quantities through this exclusive collection.

This is a seed-grown plant from our own breeding programme, not a tissue-cultured clone, making every plant truly one of a kind.
