Anthurium Ironwood is an exclusive seed-grown F1 hybrid developed through our own breeding programme at Kwekerij Dirk Mermans in Belgium.

This selection stands out for its striking combination of dark green, velvety foliage and robust, reddish-brown petioles with a distinctly textured surface. The unusual petioles provide a beautiful contrast to the soft appearance of the leaves and give the plant a particularly distinctive character.

The elongated, heart-shaped leaves display prominent pale green veins that contrast beautifully with the darker leaf surface. New leaves emerge in considerably lighter green tones before gradually developing their deeper mature colour.

Ironwood was carefully selected for this combination of foliage, venation and remarkable petiole texture. As the plant continues to grow, its leaf shape, proportions, texture and colour may develop further. Its mature characteristics are still being evaluated as part of our ongoing breeding programme.

Available in limited quantities as part of our exclusive collection of in-house Anthurium hybrids.
